Yes. Both are sons.

How long you have been living in Delhi?
I have been living here for 15-16 years.

Where do you live and with whom do you live?
I live in Sant Nagar and I live alone.

Alone? Does your family not live with you?
No, just two of us, husband and wife.

Why did you come to Delhi?
I came to Delhi to work.

Before you came to Delhi, did you have any friends or family staying here?
No. There was a Thakur from my village. I came with him.

And what work do you do?
I do boards, banners, I make banners and fix them.

For how many years have you been doing this work?
Sir, I was in service for 12-14 years and I have been doing my own work for 2-3 years.

The money that you get from this, is it enough?
Yes. It is enough. Whatever God gives, is okay for me.

Are you able to send some money to your family?
I do send to my family when they need, and I give whatever I can save after my expenses.

And have you done this kind of work before?
No sir. When I came, I worked in the milk business. I had come with a man from my village – a Thakur. He had a brother-in-law. I was engaged by his brother-in-law to work. I worked with him for ten years. Then I had differences with the people I worked for. Then I started doing my own thing.

Sir, I have many IAS people, IAS and SSP people come to me. I take their orders and make things for them.

I think that if I am using my labor, I should progress. I should not fight or quarrel with anyone.

Sir, I am not educated so I couldn’t get a government job or something. So, a business is all that’s available to me. I am making ends meet. Let it be as it is. For a year or two now, the market has been very depressed. Therefore, I am thinking of living in the village.

I will do agriculture.

How do you like the Delhi life? How do you like the whole atmosphere, the life of Delhi?
Sir, after living here, it is just like the village. However, my time spent here has so far been good.

And in your opinion, the people who come to Delhi from all over India, to earn and for money, why do they come?
All of them come for money and to earn and they come only to earn. In Mukherjee Nagar, it is like this. If there is a boy who is diligent, he will not remain hungry because here the coaching people [at all the training institutes nearby] also give Rs. 300. To one boy 350 or 300.
